Torrevieja property: a real town by the sea

With 98,533 residents (INE 2025), Torrevieja is the third-largest town in Alicante province. For anyone looking at Torrevieja property, that means shops, services and life all year round, not just a summer resort. Six of its beaches hold the Blue Flag in 2026: Cabo Cervera, Cala de las Piteras, El Cura, La Mata, Los Locos and Los Náufragos. The Real Club Náutico de Torrevieja has 570 berths, and a second sports marina sits by Acequión beach.

Just behind the town lies the Lagunas de La Mata y Torrevieja natural park, declared in 1996 over 3,743 hectares and known for its pink and green salt lagoons. Alicante–Elche airport is an easy drive away.

Apartments, houses and villas for sale in Torrevieja

Apartments make up most of the supply, largely resales, alongside new-build developments and a few villas, houses, penthouses and bungalows. Buying in Torrevieja: taxes and documents

Torrevieja is in the Valencian Community. A resale pays 9% transfer tax (ITP) for deeds signed from 1 June 2026; a new build pays 10% VAT plus 1.4% stamp duty (AJD). The fee for issuing an NIE is €9.84 (form 790, code 012). We recommend an independent lawyer, help with the NIE and power of attorney, and provide after-sales support on new builds.
