What is a maison mitoyenne?

Maison mitoyenne is French for a house that shares at least one wall with the house next door: a terraced or semi-detached home. On the Costa Blanca these are often on one or two floors, with a terrace, solarium or small garden depending on the property, and frequently in developments with communal areas run by a community of owners, whose fees you should check.
